Why do the Yankees like to Hype everything and then Fail at it? It happens all the time, i’d get tired listing the examples. Stadium fail, money spend- fail, Joba’s first start – fail, a-roid fail(AROIDS), hughes fail, fail here fail there.
80’s kid that was a long time ago, 9 years now.
And you’ve been reported.
Who’s the one HYPING the stadium fail, their payroll, A-Rod and every other tiny problem in between? Not the Yankees.
The Yankees got A-Rod because he was the best player in baseball, whether or not you think it worked out for them they cannot trade him due to his contract and all his baggage, so you can ridicule them and A-Rod as much as you want but what do you really want them to do?
The Yankees have the biggest payroll in baseball becuase they have the most money in baseball, in the biggest market in the world and have the expectations of the most successful professional sports franchise weighing on them.
They have the money, so if they see a player like Teixeria or C.C. Sabathia that would make their team substantially better, they don’t take any risks and just use their money to blow other teams out of the water with their offers. Again, you can criticize them as much as you want for it, but there’s no salary cap in baseball, SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD THEY PRETEND LIKE THERE IS? And don’t act like the Red Sox don’t overpay for players. I know that Daisuke is good, but $51 million just to talk to him? Even the Yankees balked at that.
And you say Hughes fail, he’s had TWO STARTS this season, one a fantastic game against a really good Tigers lineup, and the other a dud against a really good Boston lineup. If you think that you can predict somebody’s season off two starts you’re a fool, and evidently you’re not a serious baseball fan. References :
Why do Yankee’s fans always say 26 rings when most of them have only seen the Yankees win one. I think they bring it on themselves by spending all that money on high-paid all-stars. If they continue to not play well they will be in trouble and have a hard time coming back in a good division. References :

I don’t think it’s the Yankees hyping everything, it’s the media. That’s to be expected when they play in the largest city in the U.S.
